LAMY Fountain Pens
LAMY fountain pens are built on the Bauhaus idea that a well-made tool should look exactly like what it does. The Safari is the natural beginning: a sturdy, cheerful pen with a moulded grip that sets your fingers in the right place. The AL-star is its lighter aluminium sibling, and the LAMY 2000 is the quiet masterpiece, a gold-nibbed pen whose design has not been altered in six decades.
The Safari and AL-star write with LAMY's own cartridges straight from the box, with a converter available separately for bottled ink; the LAMY 2000 draws straight from the bottle by piston. Nibs swap between the Safari and AL-star, so you can move from fine to broad without buying a new pen. The steel nib has a slight give that softens with every page. Over time, it stops feeling like LAMY's pen and starts feeling like yours.
